Porsche New Zealand is making a day of it for its 50th anniversary celebration at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland this Sunday, September 20.

The event is open free to the public from 11am-2pm and will feature models from the history of the marque, from a 1959 356 to the latest 2026 models. More than 220 cars are confirmed.

Two stars of the day will be a Gulf-liveried 917 KH ("kurzheck", or short tail) racing car flown in from Germany especially for the event, and the special NZ anniversary 911 GT3 Touring created by the factory's Sonderwunsch division.

The car carries the signature of the late Sir Colin Giltrap, founder of the distribution company that imports Porsche today and the man who brought the marque to the NZ market half a century ago.


Kiwi 911 GT3 anniversary special will make its public debut at the event.

Five examples of the 911 anniversary model are being produced, based on the 911 GT3 with Touring Package. Each car is finished in "Paint to Sample" Yachting Blue Metallic to reflect NZ's sailing heritage. All five willl be sold to Kiwi customers and Sunday marks the first time the car will be displayed in public.

Other features include a "history wall" and pop-up shop showcasing the Porsche lifestyle range. And coffee will be on Porsche NZ.
