“You will wait, and wait, and wait some more ... ”

While many would go against condoning childish behaviour, it's hard to not smirk a little watching these two ads that BMW recently released for their 330e plug-in hybrid

Now, I've personally written about the Tesla Model 3 before, and one of the points I made at the time against the upcoming car and the whopping cloud of hype that surrounds it is the fact that there are plenty of cars that do the same thing available today. You don't need to wait a couple of years (minimum) for a Model 3; you can buy all sorts of alternatives today.

BMW's latest wave of American commercials for the 330e underline the point by making some not-so-subtle comparisons between their 330e and the still non-existent Model 3. Above is the first one, and below is the second.

Yeah, it's a little childish on the part of BMW. In a way, it's a bit like the established jock hazing the freshman on the first day of school. But BMW also have a point. At a certain point, you have to wonder whether the world's reaction of mass hysteria around the Model 3 was an overreaction. BMW would probably have you think so.

Not normally this is the bit of the article where someone calls for diplomacy and fairness, but with the Tesla Model 3's release dates as well as many of the car's details still a complete mystery, BMW is well within their rights to mock away.
