Did you buy this car new or used?

New

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

32000

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

Previous 2013 Swift Sport written off by a texting driver who crashed into it at a red light! Needed an easy, reliable and fun replacement as I commuted daily for work and enjoy small, manual transmission vehicles with good handling.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

Very well equipped for the class and price, radar cruise, Android auto etc. Interior not as 'premium' as say a VW Polo, but feels hard wearing and like it will last. Handling and performance European excellent, 1.4 turbo engine more manageable around town than previous atmo 1.6.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

Paint is maybe a bit thin, a few stonechips despite paying for paint protection. Minor trim piece came loose under dash, easily fixed. But overall well built and practical.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

I'd love the option of an opening sunroof. I know Kiwis aren't that keen on them, but I am! Slightly bigger boot would be nice. Not sure why Suzuki don't make a 'sport wagon' version of the Swift, I'd buy one!

Any other comments on the car?

Getting much less use now as I have a new job which lets me use public transport. But a fun weekend car now. Suzuki reliability sold me on getting another one, and I don't regret it.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

Yes

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

My workmates are always complaining about their broken European cars! Tempting as it is to buy a VW or Mercedes, I feel like they would break, and the premium brands have become a bit tacky. Plus, it was nice to buy a brand new manual car, perhaps the last time I ever can?
