Skoda has revealed the Peaq, a new seven-seat electric flagship that pushes the Czech brand into the large SUV segment for the first time.

The Peaq is described by Skoda as its largest and most spacious SUV yet.

It measures 4874mm long and rides on a 2965mm wheelbase, making it longer and roomier than the combustion-engined Kodiaq.

It also gives Skoda a new electric flagship above the Enyaq, while the smaller Epiq will broaden the other end of the brand's EV line-up.

Practicality is the obvious hook.

Skoda says the Peaq can seat up to seven people, while the five-seat configuration offers a 935-litre boot, the largest luggage space of any Skoda model.

There is also a 37-litre front storage compartment for charging cables or smaller items.

The range starts with the Peaq 60, using a 63kWh gross battery and a 150kW rear motor. It is claimed to deliver more than 450km of range and a 10-80 percent DC charge in 27 minutes. Above that sits the Peaq 90, with a 91kWh gross battery, 210kW and more than 640km of range. The Peaq 90x adds all-wheel drive, lifts output to 220kW and still exceeds 610km.

Skoda is also leaning into comfort and technology. The Peaq introduces flush door handles, the brand's largest panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control, a 13.6-inch vertical infotainment display and an optional Sonos premium sound system. Travel Assist 3.0, LED Matrix headlights, one-pedal driving and bidirectional charging also appear in the official material.

Skoda says the first Peaq vehicles will arrive in Germany, Austria and Slovenia in early October, followed by additional markets. New Zealand timing, specification and pricing have not been disclosed.
