A new RS model heads up Honda New Zealand's revised HR-V range, which has expanded from the single Sport version launched in 2024 to three different variants. All are still powered by Honda's e:HEV hybrid engine.

All HR-V variants retain the 1.5-litre e:HEV hybrid powertrain.

The Sport has been renamed LX, with the priced unchanged at $45,800. However, there's also now a new entry-level model underneath it, named L. It's $2300 cheaper at $43,700, but loses the LX's power tailgate, heated auto-tilting side mirrors, remote window-opening function, auto-dimming interior mirror, dual-zone climate control (it retains single-zone though), and two of the four USB ports.

You wouldn't reject the L on style: it looks exactly the same as the LX, right down to wheel size and style.

The $47,900 HR-V RS features a dedicated styling package including RS emblem and grille, door lower garnish, bumper lower garnish, and interior detailing with red stitching and red accent highlights. The powertrain and chassis are unchanged.
