Kia has unveiled an impressive lineup of rugged concepts, showcasing off-road-ready transformations across its popular electric models, including the EV9.
These concepts benefit from lifted suspensions, off-road tyres and modular features for outdoor enthusiasts.
EV9 Advntr
Leading the charge in Kia's display was the EV9 Advntr, an off-road-oriented variation of the brand’s flagship three-row electric SUV.
Equipped with a 76mm lift kit, the EV9 Advntr stands out with its robust front fascia and recovery hooks, designed for off-road manoeuvres.
This model goes beyond standard aesthetics, featuring reinforced rocker panels and a custom roof rack with an integrated light bar, signalling its capacity for off-road expeditions.
Stylish wheels and aggressive tyres complete the look, cementing the EV9 as a substantial player in the electric off-road segment.
PV5 Wkndr
For those who live the van life, Kia revealed the PV5 Wkndr concept, a reimagined version of its PV5 commercial EV.
Like the EV9 Advtr, Kia equipped this concept with a lift kit and off-road but added functionality with solar panels and innovative hydro turbine wheels, which allow the vehicle to recharge while on the go.
The interior offers a modular design with a pop-up roof, creating ample space for camping gear. Additional equipment like a winch, an external display, and an onboard air compressor enhance the vehicle’s utility, catering to those who value self-sufficiency in remote environments.
More off-road makeovers
Beyond the concept EVs, Kia presented production-based builds of its popular models, including the Thetis Sportage, Zeus Telluride, and Gaia Sorento.
Created in collaboration with Rhino Rack, the Thetis Sportage embraces a water-inspired aesthetic with a custom wrap and rose gold accents, along with a kayak mount, reinforcing its appeal to water sport enthusiasts.
The Zeus Telluride captures a military-inspired theme, developed in partnership with Xpel. A significant Eibach suspension lift, Fifteen52 wheels with Toyo tyres and a Borla exhaust underscore its rugged aesthetic, while a MOD Yakima storage system adds practical storage solutions for off-road gear.
The Gaia Sorento rounds out the lineup with a design inspired by mountain adventures, sporting gold accents, mountain graphics, and a Yakima awning. Notable features include light bars and an outdoor projector and soundbar, allowing for immersive outdoor experiences like watching movies under the stars.
Kia's latest concepts highlight a strategic push towards EVs that cater to both eco-conscious and adventure-driven consumers.
With vehicles like the EV9 Advntr and PV5 Wkndr, Kia is positioning itself to capture a unique niche in the EV market, appealing to those who seek versatility in off-road settings without sacrificing sustainability.
