From the formerly stagnant world of Mitsubishi comes their second all-new vehicle of 2018; the Triton.
The tri-diamond outfit have teased their new-look tradie utensil online with this shadowy image, ahead of it's global launch later this year.
Since the new millennium, the Triton has been one of the more ... err ... unique looking machines in the ute segment. And that looks set to remain the case if this render is anything to go by.

The toothy chrome grill is gone, replaced by a front end that ties in the Triton with Mitsubishi's other all-new 2018 platform; the Eclipse compact crossover.
Not a lot else is known about the new Triton. But, it's rumoured to share architecture under the skin with the next-generation Nissan Navara through the company's relationship with Renault.
The new model comes at a more-than-ideal time for Mitsubishi as ute sales continue to escalate on both sides of the Tasman.

Although Mitsubishi don't necessarily rub shoulders with segment sales leaders the Toyota Hilux, Holden Colorado, and Ford Ranger (which Ford are preparing to re-launch with it's 2018 changes) the Triton is regarded as one of the best value propositions in the class.
Perhaps this new model will see it step up, from a financially wise choice to being an outright contender.
