Audi has pulled the covers off the production A2 e-tron, revealing a compact electric model with 4 rear-wheel-drive power levels spanning 125-240kW. The strongest version develops up to 545Nm.
Buyers will have 52kWh, 61kWh and 84kWh gross-capacity batteries to choose from. In its most efficient form, the A2 e-tron is rated for up to 646km on the WLTP cycle and energy use as low as 12.8kWh/100km.
This latest preview is the first look at the uncovered production car and adds the complete model range and specifications that were not available earlier.
Charging and storage details
Models with the 84kWh battery can accept up to 183kW from a DC charger, taking 29 minutes to go from 10-80%. The smaller packs peak at 100kW or 105kW and complete the same charge in 24 or 25 minutes, depending on version.
Vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability will let the car power external devices. Vehicle-to-home (V2H) support is also planned, although its initial rollout is limited to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Audi has not confirmed whether either feature will be offered in New Zealand.
The boot holds 396 litres with the rear seats up and 1336 litres when they are folded. Audi has also fitted Fidlock mounting points throughout the cabin, creating secure attachment locations for compatible accessories.
New Zealand timing
German orders open on 10 September 2026 ahead of a December launch, with the entry model priced from €38,200.
For New Zealand, Audi previously said that local orders should open in early 2027, with pricing announced at that point and first arrivals expected around mid-2027. Local prices, model specifications and availability of the bidirectional power features have not yet been disclosed.
