What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

I was looking for a reasonably priced reliable car that can operate on rechargeable battery without range stress . Largely achieved. Vehicle is a little bigger than I would have chosen, ideally.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

Well built, powerful, roomy, very quiet. 60km battery range to cover local driving. Good price for a low mileage demo model. Lots of features (automatic everything) and 7 year guarantee.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

The computer controller insists on running the engine to warm it from soon after starting and at other random times when electric mode is selected, so we don't get full benefit of battery for short journeys(less than 5km). Cabin heating requires engine , although heated seats are an alternative.

Battery re-charge on hills is soft and engine braking is minimal- I would like to be able to crank up the recharge to take advantage of the hills around here. Best use of the battery would appear to be on commutes around 20km. I average a little over 5L/100km which is not bad but it could be better.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

Reliable, comfortable, powerful and quiet and economical. Roomy interior but average trunk size. No provision for a spare tyre - only repair foam. Looks like a SUV but is more of a paved road vehicle .

Computer management is quirky and slow to fire up . Everything is automatic and interconnected and can be baffling. So far reliable but heaven help if anything goes wrong. About half the large (not very clear) instruction manual covers fault codes. Car is solid on the road but not very agile (it's heavy) I've had to shut down and re-boot the computer to sort out some quirky behaviour but it didn't affect driving.

Any other comments on the car?

It's very good -but could be better.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

Yes

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

Maybe, simply because there may be better alternatives when I get around to replacing it - I wouldn't rule out buying another but it depends on how it stacks against the opposition
