What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?
I do a lot of traveling for work and leisure so wanted a comfortable family vehicle for long distance journeys and ability to go off the beaten track (which we do quite frequently on surf hunting expeditions). Has fulfilled those needs admirably.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
Serene to drive, feeling really solid and well planted on the road and eats up miles effortlessly. interior is a great place to be for extended trips, very comfortable and with a great surround sound audio system.
What have you discovered since owning the car?
How much more reliable it is than I was led to believe it would be by the "Land Rover reliability" naysayers! Nearly to 100,000km of which I have done 80,000 and only problem to date was a small crack in the plastic reservoir tank.
What do you like/dislike about the car?
Like: Great to drive and comfortable ride on our sub par provincial roads, Looks great in black on black - understated style compared to some of the wildly overstyled vehicles coming to market these days, solid performance from the 3.0 turbo diesel while being surprisingly economical on journeys, very comfortable highly adjustable heated/cooled seats, AWD auto terrain system very capable offroad for getting to surf spots and up mountain roads like Tukino in winter. Going to tempt fate here...reliability! Dislike: Nothing really other than infotainment system can sometimes be a bit laggy and a couple of times has had to be restarted to restore full functionality

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?
Yes
Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?
I would like to buy another but the new model has shot up massively in price (equivalent model now circa $260k new) so will see how used prices hold up once they been on market a bit longer. I have a fundamental objection to paying over $150k for a car which will be doing high mileage and actually getting used for driving off the tarmac. Could be tempted by an Ineos Grenadier next time. Dunno, we'll see.
