Driver gets fright of his life as 2000hp GT-R snaps sideways at 218mph

When you're hurling along a quarter mile at more than 300kph, you're largely doing so in trust of the car underneath you. Because at that speed, anything can happen.

Case in point, Team Insanity Racing's lucky escape from a near certain roll-over after the failure of an aftermarket camber arm. Check out the video, and understand how much more severe things could have been had their Nissan R35 GT-R's wheels dug into the dirt surface after leaving the road. 

What initially looks like a lose under brakes was clarified by the team as a part failure. Even though it's hard to see, the team report that the car is caged and has a fire suppression system. 

The driver of the GT-R was able to escape the car unscathed, with the car too only escaping with a few cosmetic battle scars and the need for a few new wheels. But with just a few little changes in circumstance, things could've been a lot worse
