The new McLaren 720S supercar has arrived in New Zealand and been previewed to media in the McLaren Auckland showroom this afternoon.

After its global debut at Geneva International Motor Show in March, the first batch of 720S models have made their way from the McLaren production facility in Woking, England to their new home in New Zealand.

"New Zealand is a significant market in the world of McLaren," said George Biggs, McLaren Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region.

"The response to the new 720S has been phenominal and mirrored the response around the globe."

The 720S is the first of model in McLaren's second-generation Super Series, a range that the company expects to expand with fifteen new variants over the next six years.

Lighter, faster and more capable than the 650S it replaces, the 720S brings an end to the first-generation of Super Series cars that put McLaren on the supercar map including the MP4-12C, 650S, and 675LT.

Look out for our full preview of the McLaren 720S in NZ Herald and driven.co.nz this weekend.
