Rolls-Royce has introduced the Cameo, a miniature sculpture designed to encapsulate the luxury British car brand's iconic design ethos in a collectible format.
Created using materials found in full-sized Rolls-Royce vehicles, such as solid oak and polished aluminium, the Cameo is not a car but a handcrafted art piece meant to evoke the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship.
The Cameo's design pays homage to the open-top motor cars of Rolls-Royce's early years. Its two-tone body, achieved by magnetically joining oak and aluminium sections, mirrors the ‘marriage’ stage in Rolls-Royce vehicle assembly.
This process, where the body is mounted to the drivetrain, is a defining moment in the manufacturing journey, often witnessed by the brand’s clientele.
The Cameo is more than a decorative piece. It features self-levelling wheel centre caps with the signature 'RR' monogram, reminiscent of its life-sized counterparts.
Inside, a 3D-printed and meticulously painted interior in Rolls-Royce’s Gracie White hue completes the look. Even a miniature driver is included, symbolising the luxurious journeys the brand is renowned for.
This intricate sculpture, aimed at collectors and Rolls-Royce enthusiasts, is available in Rolls-Royce showrooms and Private Office boutiques.
While pricing details remain undisclosed (some dealer sources indicate a price of around US$5500 or around NZ$8350), the Cameo offers a unique way to experience Rolls-Royce craftsmanship without acquiring a full-sized vehicle.
With its intricate design and connection to Rolls-Royce’s storied legacy, the Cameo stands as an emblem of luxury, albeit in a size that fits on your coffee table.
