Fans of the Austin Powers franchise have a chance to own a piece of cinematic and motoring history.

The 1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster, famously known as the ‘Shaguar’, is heading to auction in January 2025 through Mecum Auctions.

This vehicle stands tall as the sole Jaguar E-Type used in all three films, making it a unique opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Unlike many movie cars, which are often produced in multiples for various filming purposes, this E-Type is singular in its fame. It featured prominently in scenes driven by Mike Myers, portraying the eccentric spy Austin Powers.

Adding to its allure, the car also made a cameo in Madonna’s "Beautiful Stranger" music video, a tie-in with the film series.

Beyond its Hollywood appearances, the ‘Shaguar’ boasts a distinctive Union Jack livery complemented by a dark blue interior.

After its film career, the car became part of a private collection and was occasionally loaned to Jaguar Land Rover for corporate events. It underwent a full restoration by Jaguar Land Rover in the mid-2000s, with recent mechanical updates ensuring it remains road-ready.

This E-Type has clocked just over 103,000km, a testament to its age and storied history.

Its original 4.2-litre inline-six engine, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, remains intact, delivering the kind of raw, mechanical driving experience that has cemented the E-Type’s status as a motoring icon.

While the interior shows signs of wear, its preservation reflects the authenticity of a vehicle that defined an era. With its auction date set, the 'Shaguar' offers a rare chance to own a blend of cinematic nostalgia and timeless motoring excellence.
