When your surname graces the gates of Maranello, it comes with privileges - like commissioning a Ferrari Daytona SP3 tailored to your vision.
Piero Ferrari, Enzo's only living son and a key figure in the company since 1965, recently unveiled his bespoke Daytona SP3. The car serves as a deeply personal tribute to both his father and a defining era in Ferrari's racing history.
Piero's inspiration stemmed from the Ferrari 250 LM, a Pininfarina-designed legend that debuted at the Paris Motor Show.

Adorned in white with striking blue stripes and a red interior, the 250 LM remains an icon, not just for its design but for its storied connection to Ferrari's racing achievements.
The colour scheme of Piero's Daytona SP3 isn't arbitrary. The blue stripes over a white body pay homage to Ferrari's brief yet bold association with the North American Racing Team (NART).
In 1964, Ferrari competed in American racing colours, a defiant move in response to disputes with the FIA.
The original 250 LM, carrying those same hues, played a key role in Ferrari's Constructors' Championship victory and John Surtees' F1 title win. Piero has ensured that every detail of his SP3 captures that spirit, even commissioning a painting of the original 250 LM to hang in his office.
While the original 250 LM housed a 3.0-litre V12 engine producing around 231kW, the Daytona SP3 takes performance to another level. Its 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 delivers a staggering 617kW.
Yet, despite the technological chasm between the two cars, they share an intangible connection - emotion.
For Piero, driving his Daytona SP3 around Ferrari's Fiorano circuit was more than just a test lap. "That was its baptism," he remarked, reflecting on the car's debut on the iconic track. Now carefully preserved in his collection, the SP3 represents more than speed or engineering brilliance - it’s a rolling memoir.
At its core, Piero Ferrari's Daytona SP3 is a bridge between generations. It captures the nostalgia of Ferrari’s golden era while showcasing the cutting-edge engineering of today.
Whether parked in a pristine garage or roaring down Fiorano, this SP3 stands as a symbol of heritage, passion and an enduring connection between a son and his legendary father.
