He's not legally allowed to drive on our roads on his own but teenage Kiwi race driver Conrad Clark will head to the United States this year to race in Formula 4.
The Taupō product has agreed to a deal with Kiwi Motorsport – a team set up to open doors for Kiwi drivers and mechanics get ahead in the US, and that campaigned Invercargill's Brendon Leitch last season.
He will compete in a six-round championship, the final event being held at the American Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas with an audience of 340 000 in the stands and worldwide television coverage.
"We are so pleased to have Conrad join Kiwi Motorsport," team owners Teena Larsen and Garry Orton said via a statement. "The team was set up to open doors for Kiwi drivers and mechanics and having a kiwi driver means a lot to us and falls in line with our goals.
"Conrad will be racing on the big stage in the States and we know he will perform well and learn from this experience."

Clark has spent the summer racing for Sabre Motorsport in the Hi Q Components Formula First National Series in New Zealand.
The Formula First drive came off the back of winning the coveted Speedsport Scholarship — a scholarship formerly won by the likes of Richie Stanaway and Shane van Gisbergen.
Clark will make his American debut at the opening round at Virginia International Raceway at the end of April.
