- Horizon package adds $4k of 'adventure ready' extras.
- Available on Jimny 3dr and 5dr, manual or automatic.
- Jimny 3dr on runout as a new model with tech upgrades approaches.
Suzuki New Zealand's Jimny Horizon model is part special-edition for the range, part runout for the 3-door as it prepares for the launch of a mildly updated model.
Suzuki says the Horizon package adds $4000 worth of "adventure ready" accessories to pretty much any Jimny you want: 3-door in base or Sierra specification, 5-door Sierra (the only trim offered in the larger model) and manual or automatic across the range.
The Jimny Horizon features a package of genuine Suzuki accessories including an attachable Osagawa tent shade, roof platform and side door mouldings. The model wears a "heritage" grille and custom vinyl decals.
Horizon starts at $34,990 for the 3-door and $42,990 for the 5-door, increases of $2k over the standard models.
However, the Horizon package also serves as as a runout model for the current 3-door, which is getting a minor update and gaining some of the equipment already standard on the 5-door, including the larger 9-inch infotainment display with upgraded OS and wireless phone projection, updated instrumentation and an adaptive function for the cruise control.
The current (non-Horizon) Jimny 3-door is now listed as a "preorder" model on Suzuki NZ's website, but the brochure download does indeed show the updated model, with one quirk: the JX and Sierra manual models are listed with the new technology, but the flagship Sierra automatic is not. We've contacted Suzuki NZ for clarification.
