  • PC sim racing specialist Moza Racing has revealed a move into the PlayStation market.
  • The company will be an official partner for the Gran Turismo World Series.
  • A range of PS5-compatible hardware is planned to follow the announcement.

Moza Racing has been named an official partner of the Gran Turismo World Series, the international championship for the Gran Turismo video game franchise. The partnership is scheduled to begin on August 15, 2026, coinciding with the premiere of Round 2 of the 2026 series, where the Moza brand will be integrated into the official broadcasts.

As part of this collaboration, Moza Racing also confirmed it is currently developing its first officially licensed PlayStation racing products, which are intended for use with the PlayStation 5 subject to final approval from Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Father of the Gran Turismo series, Kazunori Yamauchi, says he has long followed the development of Moza's tech.

"At Moza Racing, our mission has always been to make professional-grade sim racing more accessible while continually pushing the boundaries of performance and immersion," said CY Guan, CEO of Moza Racing.

"Partnering with the Gran Turismo World Series is an exciting milestone for us. Gran Turismo has inspired generations of racing enthusiasts, and we are honoured to contribute to a championship that represents the very best of virtual motorsport. Together, we look forward to creating new possibilities for racers around the world."

Currently none of Moza's range of racing sim kit is compatible with the PlayStation ecosystem, with the company only recently branching out of the PC world with the Xbox compatible version of the R3 Racing Bundle, so it is unclear exactky what equipment will be used in the Gran Turismo World Series or, indeed, what is coming.

Given that the hardware that makes the R3 compatible with an Xbox is all contained within the actual steering wheel rim itself, the move into PS5 racing could well be as simple as a new PS5-compatible wheel rim that, like the Xbox one, is compatible with Moza's range of wheel bases.

Legendary producer of the Gran Turismo games Kazunori Yamauchi says he first came across Moza thanks to their camera stabilisation gimbals.

"Gimbals and steering controllers both use the same type of technology in that they exercise very precise control over electric motors, so I had my eyes on Moza's developmental ability, technology, and reliability for a while now," said Yamauchi.

"The evolution of consumer-level force feedback steering that started from Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec is still ongoing, but with Moza now joining us as a partner I’m excited to see the expanded possibilities to develop a steering wheel that is optimal in the eyes of Gran Turismo."

In tandem with the partnership news Moza Racing also introduced a range of new hardware, marking an expansion into full motion rigs, farming, and flight simulation.
