This week, DRIVEN does something a little special. While motorcycling has always been part of our topics and reviews, this week we grab another gear. In conjunction with Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, we are creating a special edition dedicated only to motorcycles and the love of them, called RIDDEN.
It’s totally two-wheels focused, and with Waka Kotahi, we speak to some of the riders featured in the current advertising campaigns, and their thoughts, lives and loves and expanded philosophies about motorcycles and riding – and of course their bikes.
We explore some of the greatest motorcycle-suited rides in both the North and South Islands, plus we look at some of the latest technologies on motorcycles, plus a look at some of the best styles of bikes to suit different needs, from commuting to weekend and lifestyle.
Our junior staff writer takes the first step towards his motorcycling adventure by attending a new rider Ride Forever course, looking at what it takes to obtain a bike licence, along with the lessons learnt that improve both riding and driving.
Our own Coast FM breakfast radio and DRIVEN ambassador/contributor Sam Wallace stars on the cover, as a keen motorcycle enthusiast. Sam shares with us a story on his greatest ride, with his dad, and a special set of safety tips he uses to assess and ensure viability of every ride.
Plus, we cover off all the usual sections in a motorcycle-slanted way, including our weekly quiz, our staff writer’s personal stories, and The Good Oil and more. Look for the special Waka Kotahi RIDDEN issue, like every week, in the Saturday NZ Herald, March 27.
