Mercedes-Benz New Zealand has officially introduced the all-new GLC 300 4Matic Coupe, promising a blend of stylish design and dynamic driving pleasure. This latest addition to the GLC family stands out with its sporty dynamism and lifestyle appeal, marking a significant evolution from its predecessors. Its electric drive technology enhances responsiveness and contributes to improved fuel efficiency through energy recuperation.

Enhanced design and practicality

The new GLC 300 4Matic Coupe boasts a muscular, dynamic appearance thanks to its increased length, height, and additional track width. This results in a significant boost in cargo capacity. The vehicle is now more spacious, offering 545 litres of luggage capacity with rear seats in place, expanding to a substantial 1490 litres when the seats are folded.

Despite these expansions, the GLC Coupé retains an impressive aerodynamic profile, with a reduced drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.27, thanks to advanced digital flow simulations and aero-acoustic tunnel testing.

Power and performance

Under the hood, the GLC 300 Coup features a mild hybrid system with 48-volt technology, working in tandem with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. This powertrain delivers 190kW and 400 Nm of torque, complemented by a refined nine-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel traction. An over-boost function allows for an extra 17kW and 200Nm for brief periods, enhancing performance dynamically.

Luxury tech

The GLC 300 Coupe now comes with more standard equipment than ever. Highlights include a head-up display, electric front seats with memory and seat heating, and a panoramic sunroof - a first for the GLC Coupe.

It also features 20-inch AMG 5-spoke light alloy wheels, Night Package exterior trim enhancements, and sports suspension. Inside, the vehicle boasts an 11.9-inch touchscreen incorporating the latest MBUX infotainment system and a raft of safety features including nine airbags and advanced driver assistance systems.

Capable off-roader

Adding to its versatility, the GLC 300 Coupé also excels off-road with a dedicated Off-Road mode and the innovative Transparent Bonnet feature, offering a virtual view of the ground beneath the vehicle, enhancing the driver's awareness and confidence in challenging terrains.

Pricing and availability

The Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC Coupé is now available in New Zealand showrooms for $125,900, presenting an attractive option for those seeking a blend of luxury, performance, and practicality in a stylish coupe form.
