The Porsche 911 Turbo has been an icon of performance and innovation for half a century, and Porsche is marking this milestone with a special edition that pays homage to the Turbo's rich heritage.
The '911 Turbo 50 Years' is a limited-production model that blends turbocharged performance with luxurious materials and exclusive styling elements, drawing inspiration from historic 911 Turbo models.
A nod to the past
Porsche's new 911 Turbo 50 Years is based on the current 2025 911 Turbo S and is limited to just 1974 units globally, a nod to the year the first 911 Turbo was unveiled.
As Frank Wiesmann, Manager, Product Communications, Motorsport and Brand Heritage at Porsche Cars North America, puts it, "The 911 Turbo (Type 930) redefined what was possible when it was first shown in 1974.
It brought turbocharging technology – which Porsche initially used in race cars such as the 917/10 and 917/30 – to the roadgoing 911 along with a unique design and an almost unparalleled level of daily usability for a sports car."
With the limited model, Porsche has added unique design touches that evoke the spirit of the vehicle's predecessors, including decals inspired by the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo and the use of Turbonite, a colour exclusive to Porsche Turbo models.
The rear wing, lower rear fascia, exterior mirror base, and air intake grilles are painted in Anthracite Grey, further enhancing the car's distinctive look.
Luxurious interior
Inside, the 911 Turbo 50 Years is equally special, with seat centres and inner door panels upholstered in 'MacKenzie' tartan, a tribute to the early Porsche 911 Turbo models.
Contrasting elements in Turbonite, including seat belts, contrast stitching and trim pieces in black leather, add a touch of modernity. The door sill guards feature an illuminated 'turbo 50' model designation, and an anniversary plaque above the glove compartment showcases the car's limited-edition status.
Living up to its legacy
The 911 Turbo 50 Years is powered by a 3.7-litre boxer engine with VTG-twin-turbocharging, producing a staggering 478kW and 800 Nm of torque. This translates to a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in a mere 2.6 seconds.
The sports car comes standard with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, active all-wheel drive, and torque vectoring plus, ensuring exceptional performance and handling.
A timepiece to match
Porsche Design has also created a special chronograph to complement the 911 Turbo 50 Years.
The Chronograph 911 Turbo 50 Years is limited to 1,974 examples and features a black watch face with elements in Turbonite, mirroring the clock fitted to the car's dashboard. The strap is made of black leather used in the car and has contrasting stitching in Turbonite.
