At this rate there'll be nothing left to pull the covers off at the actual event: following Kia's reveal of the EV4 sedan and hatch ahead of its EV Day in Spain on February 24, the Korean maker has now released full exterior images of its so-called "PBV" (platform beyond vehicle) modular model line, in the form of the PV5 Passenger and PV5 Cargo.

PBV is all about "unprecedented flexibility and customisation through innovative modularity", says Kia.

It will offer the PV5 in several configurations. The Passenger and Cargo models will be joined by further additions to the range, including specialised conversion options, set to be unveiled at the 2025 Kia EV Day.

The Passenger’s geometric profile is intended to deliver excellent visibility thanks to the large window area, made possible by a low beltline.

Black geometric wheelarch claddings and rocker panels echo Kia’s SUV lineup, not to mention the forthcoming Tasman ute.

The PV5 features a single lift-up tailgate door, set above a strong bumper that mirrors the protective corners at the front.

The Cargo has a boxier profile that reflects greater space efficiency. It features twin side-opening tailgate doors and a large rear opening.

Kia will host its 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain on February 24, where it will unveil the full PV5 product range, including derivative models and conversion options, alongside strategic plans for its PBV business.

And yes, there is of course one EV Day model as-yet unseen: the Concept EV2 city hatch.
