Hollywood legend Keanu Reeves, widely known for his roles in The Matrix and John Wick, made his professional auto racing debut at the Toyota GR Cup this past weekend.

This one-make series features identical GR 86 race cars, offering a competitive yet accessible platform for emerging and seasoned drivers alike.

Competing at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the actor-turned-racer navigated the ups and downs of motorsport in a weekend full of drama and excitement.

Saturday's spin in race one

Reeves’ debut race on Saturday took a tense turn when he spun off at Turn 9, about halfway through the 45-minute race.

The incident sent the 60-year-old's car sliding into the grass, though he managed to avoid a collision and rejoined the race.

Starting from 31st out of 35 cars, he climbed to 21st before the spin and finished 25th.

A smoother Sunday in race two

On Sunday, Reeves took part in a second race, showing improved control and confidence. This time, he finished 24th out of 32 cars, making it a cleaner race with no major incidents.

It was an encouraging sign of growth as he adapted to the highly competitive environment of professional motorsport.
