Japanese tuners create a very un-Tesla looking Tesla

While I'm not queuing up to buy one I can appreciate plenty about the Tesla Model S. It's a revolutionary car from a revolutionary company, with technology poised on that imaginary cutting edge everyone keeps talking about, and a leader capable of getting under the skin of all his industry rivals.

But it's the image of the Model S that is the coolest thing about it. Disregarding the often aggressive Tesla fanbase, the Model S is proof that just because a car is green it doesn't mean it has to also be nerdy and weird. The Model S is as suave and slick as inviting a potential romantic subject home to a romantically lit bedroom punctuated by Barry White's tasty verbage.

Not this one though. This is more of a McDonalds dinner date kind of car in regards to class.

It's by Office-K, a tuning company in Japan. Now, I say that they're tuners because that's easy, but it's worth noting that the majority of their 'builds' are purely of a visual nature. And this Tesla is no different, with its modifications only extending to an Artisan Spirits body kit, lowered ride-height, huge 22" Forgiato rims, and of course the retina-burning chrome wrap with that-surely-can't-be-carbon carbon-fiber accents.

As you'll probably have picked by now, none of these really do anything for me. Dumping 'VIP'-style modifications on something they are entirely foreign to is a curious concept, but when it comes at the cost of disposing of many other things that give the Tesla its reputation and lore then it's a bust.

No, this look should stay with 10-year-old Japanese luxury saloons, and maybe the occasional 7 Series. Leave the Tesla alone.
