Honda has teased two new electric vehicle (EV) prototypes ahead of their official debut at January's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The move signals a bold step in the brand’s electrification strategy, with plans to expand the 0 Series lineup to seven EV models globally by 2030.
Honda’s single teaser image (shown above) showcases two distinct prototypes.
On one side, a sedan resembling the Saloon EV Concept presented last year is now labelled a 'prototype', hinting at advancements in its design and engineering.
With its signature illuminated Honda badge, intricate LED taillights, and streamlined brake light, the sedan evokes sophisticated aesthetics.
The real standout, however, is the boxy SUV prototype pictured alongside. Its upright design suggests significant interior space, likely rivalling the Kia EV9 or Hyundai Ioniq 9 in size.
Notable features include a wraparound LED light bar on the vertical rear window and additional lights integrated into the rear bumper. The lack of traditional wing mirrors and a stretched wheelbase hint at modern aerodynamics and improved cabin space.
The 0 Series lineup will progressively roll out starting in 2026, beginning with a midsize SUV and an entry-level model.
Larger and more specialised variants, including a three-row SUV and compact options, will follow annually until 2029. By 2030, Honda aims to establish a diverse EV portfolio to compete globally.
At CES, Honda will also showcase its proprietary vehicle operating system, designed to underpin its next-generation Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). This system, part of the 'Thin, Light and Wise' philosophy, will integrate with advanced automated driving technologies, elevating Honda’s EV game.
With this dynamic blend of refined design and cutting-edge technology, Honda's CES 2025 presence could mark a turning point for its electric ambitions.
