First introduced in 2015, Dodge's Hellcat-powered pairing was something that the world wasn't expecting, but these two overpowered modern-day muscle cars were welcomed with open arms.
Powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged V8, the Charger Hellcat and the Challenger Hellcat were always only going to be a temporary offering, and it seems that their days are finally numbered.

News of the Hellcat's demise comes from a recent report out of America, which quotes Dodge's CEO, who states that fans only have a couple more years to buy one before they're gone.
"I will have this car, this platform, this powertrain as we know it through the end of '23. There's two more years to buy a Hellcat, then it's history," said Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis.
This also signals the end of the Dodge Charger and Challenger as we know it, which were first introduced to the market in 2005 and 2008 respectively.
Given that both of these platforms have been in production for at least 15 years, it shouldn't come as a surprise to hear of their demise, as this is a very long tenure in the automotive world.
As for what will replace these 500kW muscle cars? That question is yet to be answered, but by the look of Dodge's future plans, it will be something electric.
Before the muscle fans throw up their hands in anguish, Dodge has already promised that this electric muscle car will appeal to the current petrol-loving audience, with more than enough power on tap.
