Rolls-Royce has unveiled a one-of-a-kind Phantom, commissioned to honour the Year of the Dragon in 2024.
Designed for a private client in China, this bespoke creation showcases intricate craftsmanship and meaningful symbolism while embodying peak automotive luxury.
Subtle exterior, bold interior
The exterior of the Phantom Dragon is finished in a restrained yet sophisticated shade of Iced Diamond Black, ensuring a discreet presence on the road.
However, the cabin tells a far more extravagant story.
The interior is enveloped in vibrant Ardent Red leather, with this bold hue adorning the seats, dashboard, steering wheel and door panels.
A personalised touch sees the owner’s family name embroidered into the Phantom's headrests using ancient Chinese calligraphy.
The dragon in the details
Central to the car’s design is the custom dashboard, referred to as ‘The Gallery’ by Rolls-Royce. It features a depiction of two dragons amidst swirling clouds, created from 297 pieces of four distinct types of wood.
Adding further flair, the Starlight headliner showcases two dragons rendered in red and white, surrounded by 24 shooting stars.
“Our goal was to express China’s most revered symbols and the client’s personal iconography impactfully yet respectfully,” explained Shuai Feng, lead bespoke designer at Rolls-Royce.
The cost of this bespoke Phantom remains undisclosed, but it undoubtedly commands a significant premium over the standard model, reinforcing its exclusivity and status as a symbol of personal luxury and artistry.
