ZR1 smashes 0 to 96km/h in 2.3seconds on pump fuel.

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has officially entered the conversation of hypercar legends with staggering performance figures revealed by the American marque.

The Corvette ZR1 achieves a 0 to 96km/h sprint in just 2.3 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 9.6 seconds at 241km/h, all thanks to its ZTK Performance Package.

Even the standard ZR1 showcases remarkable capability. It clocks a 0 to 96km/h time of 2.5 seconds and a quarter-mile run in 9.7 seconds at 245km/h. According to Chevrolet, these tests were conducted on non-prepped drag strips using standard 93 octane fuel, emphasising the ZR1’s real-world performance.

In context, rivals like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Lamborghini Revuelto achieve 0 to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds, highlighting the ZR1’s dominance.

Comparisons with American muscle reveal the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon matches its acceleration at 2.3 seconds for 0 to 96km/h but lags slightly in the quarter mile at 9.65 seconds.

While the Demon 170 eclipses these with a groundbreaking 1.66-second sprint and an 8.91-second quarter mile, the Corvette ZR1 reclaims ground with a record-breaking top speed of 375km/h.

At the core of the ZR1 is a twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 engine producing 793kW and 1121Nm of torque. This powerhouse is paired with an upgraded eight-speed dual-clutch transmission featuring reinforced shafts and enhanced lubrication for durability under extreme conditions.

Corvette Chief Engineer Josh Holder remarked, “The 2025 Corvette ZR1 yet again exceeded our expectations. Combined with a top speed record of 233mph (375km/h) - which is unrivalled by any current production car priced under $1 million - the Corvette ZR1 delivers on its mission to provide customers unrelenting power.”

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is set to hit markets next year, though pricing details remain under wraps.

With performance figures that rival cars far above its class, the ZR1 is shaping up to be a disruptor in the hypercar segment.
