Aston Martin has officially revealed the 2025 Vantage Roadster, a drop-top sibling to the Vantage Coupe.
Powered by the marque’s upgraded 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, the Roadster delivers a compelling mix of luxury, performance and engineering precision.
Powerful engine, refined performance
The Vantage Roadster boasts significant performance upgrades over its predecessor, generating 485kW and 800Nm of torque - up by 114kW and 115Nm, respectively.
These improvements, achieved through larger turbochargers, revised camshaft profiles and enhanced compression ratios, elevate its capabilities to nearly match the formidable DB12 Volante.
Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the V8 sends power to the rear wheels via an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. This configuration enables the Roadster to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 325km/h.
Despite the added weight typical of convertibles, Aston Martin minimised the impact, with the Roadster weighing just 60kg more than the Coupe. Its 49:51 weight distribution and advanced suspension - double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear - ensure precise handling. Adaptive Bilstein DTX dampers further enhance the driving experience.
Engineering meets luxury
The Vantage Roadster features a Z-folding roof mechanism that operates up to 50km/h and deploys in just 6.8 seconds, making it the fastest fully automatic roof on the market. The roof can also be controlled remotely via the key.
Equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tyres and carbon ceramic brakes, the Roadster offers eight traction control settings to suit varying conditions. Inside, an 11-speaker audio system comes standard, with an optional Bowers & Wilkins system for audiophiles.
2025 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster availability
With its combination of power and elegance, the Vantage Roadster cements its position as a formidable addition to Aston Martin’s lineup.
Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin’s CEO, described the Roadster as a “world-class roof-down driving experience like no other,” highlighting its performance and refinement.
Customer deliveries are slated to begin in the second quarter of 2025, though New Zealand availability remains under wraps.
In the meantime, the new Aston Martin Vantage coupe is available in the country, starting at $375,000.
