Did you buy this car new or used?

New

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

35000

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

New car, AWD, Hatch, our forever car. It certainly has (although we are thinking about upgrading to Outback) The XV is a brilliant car to drive. Love the AWD +Xmode, Eyesight is brilliant, we come to love the CVT, remarkable spacious for a "small" car. It is plenty fast enough with the 2ltr engine, and it was within our budget (best value for money!)

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

Loved it from day 1 and loved driving it ever since we got it in 2018. It is an easy car to drive, with good road holding, a nice turning circle so its easy to manoeuvre, parking etc.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

Lots of nifty little features, like adaptive cruise control, rear camera when reversing, the infotainment thing is good and compatible with our phones (hands free and music). Our XV Sport doesn't have the built in navigation system. Aircon is really good, got a roof rack and tow-bar in case we need long stuff or bulky things. Very good to drive, done some really long trips and achieved 6.4/100km economy. No problems with wet grass or going off-road. Good service from our local Sublab. Winger wheeling and dealing is a pain because they are car dealers, arrogant p***ks if you excuse my french. I had serious thoughts of finding another dealer while we were negotiating about price.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

The boot is not very big but putting the back seat(s) flat takes care of that. Changing settings on infotainment etc is not all that user friendly.

Any other comments on the car?

Why look at the Outback ? , larger 2.5 ltr engine and lots more space and more up to dat features. It is nice to get a new car, but if it does not happen we will keep the XV as our forever car. Why do they quote a price ...... and then add on Road cost? It's not like the supermarket where prices change from day to day. They know exactly what the cost is to drive away, and if you treat them like any other dealer you haggle! They will come to the party .... eventually. They are advertising on every possible medium, TV, You tube , news paper, email etc Buy now at last years prices ??????? liars. If you make an enquiry the first thing they say is, O there are none in the country and the price went up from 1/4, and you need to wait 3-4 months ..... pull the other one mate.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

Yes

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

I would buy an XV again, but if it worked out financially (our limited budget) I would go for an Outback The dealer will give 21000 as a trade, but privately or auction it will fetch between 25k and 30k, not bad for a 2018 model with about 45k on the clock Note* there are not a lot of second hand ones for sale I wonder why?
