Gone in Sixty Seconds: Actually, it's not - this famous movie car has been for sale on Auto Trader for over a week.

A 'beauty car' from the movie used for close-ups of Nicolas Cage at the wheel

Eleanor, the 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 from the film Gone in Sixty Seconds - widely recognised as one of Hollywood's most iconic film cars of the 21st century - is for sale in the UK.

The genuine car from the 2000 heist movie starring Nicolas Cage has been listed on Auto Trader with a near-NZ$240,000 asking price.

The Ford GT500 Shelby Cobra, formerly owned by the London Motor Museum and ex-Chelsea and Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o, was used as a 'beauty car' in the film and has toured the world to promote the flick at a number of red carpet premieres.

A rarity in its own right, just 300 GT500 Shelby Cobras were ever built. However, this could be the most sought-after version of all.

Fondly dubbed Eleanor, the Shelby was the last of 50 cars Cage and his crew, including Angelina Jolie, Vinnie Jones and Rovert Duvall, had to steal during a one-night theft-fest to save his brother.

With all the cars referred to as female names to hide their identities from the police, Eleanor was main character's 'unicorn' — the one he failed to steal on a number of occasions.

Starring in the climax of the film in one of the most-loved car chase scenes in modern cinema history, Cage manages to escape the clutches of the LAPD but part-trashes the Mustang in the process.

However, this car, for sale at Motorhub in Keighley, West Yorkshire, isn't the vehicle used in the bodywork-mangling stunt scene where Cage jumps over a police road-block on the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles.

Instead, this is one of the 'beauty cars' used in close-up shots in the film, including interior footage with Cage at the wheel.

The car, priced at NZ$239,000, is described by the seller as packing an amazing and rare specification including a 5.7-litre V8 with 428 Cobra Jet Engine upgrade, fuel injection, auto transmission, full black leather Carroll Shelby Signature seats and a 160mph speedo.

The '5 SEC' plate shown in the pictures isn't the registered one for the car.

Transported from Hollywood to the UK after promotional duties, the car has had a stint on display at the London Motor Museum and belonged to Cameroon footballer Samuel Eto'o who has won three Champions League titles and currently plies his trade in the Turkish top division for Antalyaspor.
