Did you buy this car new or used?

Used

If used, what year did you buy it used?

2023

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

$64,000

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

Electric sedan which would fit my husband comfortably.

Reasonably long range and comfortable to drive.

Reasonable towing capability

Not a Tesla, and not a car which would be too ‘self driving’.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

We liked the Volvo build quality and it has excellent torque.

I was pleased we are able to turn off the driver assist features and find the adaptive cruise control really user friendly and great in heavy traffic situations.

Visually, I like the simplicity of the interior.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

Love the car to drive and the fact it doesn’t have gimmicks of Tesla.

Real life range (with a lot of hill driving) is 400km and that is charging the battery to 90%

Hubby loves the windscreen that adjusts the light at night prevent glare from oncoming headlights.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

We have very marginal cellular coverage (3G only) and the car does all its updates by 4G. This isn't ideal. It also means I can’t use the app when I am at home to check the charge. And I did manage to lock myself out while charging in a country town, because the 4G coverage wasn’t sufficient to use my phone to unlock.

The only other thing I don’t like is the texture of the hard surfaces of the interior seem quite hard to clean. Visibility through the rear and side windows aren’t great.

Any other comments on the car?

Glad we have bought it. Also glad I didn’t buy new, as saving $20k for a 12 month old car seems good value.

It is very pleasant to drive, and I miss my V6 Jaguar a lot less than I thought I would.
