Kilometres travelled

75,000-100,000 km

Did you buy this car new or used?

New

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

$33,000

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

I was a rural real estate agent selling farms and lifestyle blocks in the Waikato, and retiring from the industry and wanted a car with a petrol motor after having a four wheel drive wagon which after 250,000 kilometres was starting to be come rather noisey with its diesel rattle which high mileage diesels developed. I wanted a 2.4 motor and space for grandchildren and travel luxury which this car offered. I’ve had a trouble free 10 years with the car and love every aspect of it.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

It had everything that I was after in a car without being a gas guzzler nor expensive to service. When compared to servicing a diesel engine it was half the cost to do and so much more pleasant on the pocket.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

I still love it like the day I purchased it. I’ve put a new battery in the car and a set of tyres all round which I class as normal running requirements. Its spacious boot handles golf clubs and suitcases for any holiday and it’s so quite on the road when driving and my wife often comments how luxurious it is to drive anywhere.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

I dislike that it doesn’t offer the safety factors that today’s new cars offer after buying my wife a new Toyota 12 months ago. At the time of buying my car it was right up to the safety specs of the day.

Any other comments on the car?

If I was to sell it I would know that the new owner would get a much loved and trouble free car for many kilometres as I have done and even more.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

No

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

I now need a small car or at least a hybrid for low-cost driving as we don’t travel anywhere like we use too and we are much older.
