Did you buy this car new or used?

New

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

$32,000

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

I traded by Golf TSi which had done a few K's, so I wanted something with less, but also a car with more identity.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

I chose the Focus because love the peppy, grunty engine and its firm but subtle suspension, which is what I wanted. The Sat Nav is good as are the safety features like autonomous emergency braking. It looks great and fulfils my needs to a Tee

What have you discovered since owning the car?

A few niggling faults and much heavier fuel consumption around town compared to a Golf TSi. Highway fuel economy is great. I love the adaptive cruise control.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

The engine is so peppy and has loads of torque and is happy to pull 5th gear and 1,500 rpm all day.

While I love the adaptive cruise control it can be very laggy and has to be encouraged to accelerate without leaving a huge gap. Fuel economy around town is poor.

The headlights could be better for a modern car.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

No

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

I am well past retirement so this will likely be my last car unless I buy a second hand EV
