What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

I needed a tow vehicle up to 3 tonne, a closed in multipurpose wagon, excellent 4x4 capability with at least 500mm of wading depth, good highway performance, sensible price and good access to local parts and servicing.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

It meet all the needs i wanted at a very competitive price. Looks good as well. Enjoyable and hassle free to drive.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

Nothing particular. I've added some accessories eg nudge bar etc. Fuel economy (2 litre diesel) is excellent. towing performance with 2.5 tonne on the back is very good. Highway driving is quiet and smooth.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

To many annoying warning beeps and bongs for completely trivial issues. eg check back seat for passengers..!! Also if the drivers door closes (say a gust of wind) while you are out opening a farm gate, the horn does two blasts. Im over it!!

Any other comments on the car?

I would buy a new one but not until there is a PHEV version.

I would buy another because there is nothing available as good with similar specifications for the same price, and which also looks good.

Has it fulfilled those needs? I was looking for a four wheel drive, with all wheel drive that could be used on tarmac, a towing vehicle, and with 7 seats for transporting the family. The Everest delivered and more on all fronts What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you. The Sport in Black, with blacked out trim looks stunning! The V6 diesel in the Everest is very smooth, even power delivery, and is exceptional quiet in the cabin. What have you discovered since owning the car? The on-road handling is fantastic, even through New Zealand's wind country roads. The lane keep assist can be aggressive. The touch screen has times when it lags. The fuel economy in stop start traffic is not great. What do you like/dislike about the car? I love the way the truck looks, drives really nicely, especially on longer journeys. The practicality, includin 7 seats, effortless towing, and robust interior are great. Yes Why would/wouldn't you buy it again? The Everest has delivered what was expected, but has exceeded expectations. In the category there are no other choices offer the same as the Everest for a similar price.

Old 2016 Everest getting high k's so needed a refresh, familiar with the model and never had issues with it. Suitable for work deliveries etc and also family life with weekend sports, road trips and camping. What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you. Previous experience meant I knew what I was in for with the Everest. Pleasantly surprised with more features as standard, a few tweaks here and there meant a nicer car to be inside. Facelifted model grill and rims look sharper compared to previous. What have you discovered since owning the car? Reads speed limit signs. While my old Everest had SYNC3 this seems to work better in the new car e.g. auto updates via wifi actually complete What do you like/dislike about the car? Love almost everything about it. Versatility for work, family and even for around town if needed. Don't like the acceleration lag for standing starts (although sport mode fixes that nicely). Would be good to have map updates via wifi also rather than relying on this to be done at service time or using Fords clunky flash drive process. Ticks a lot of boxes for an active family, easy to drive for for such a large car, packed with safety features

(including all on-road costs) 56000 What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs? We needed a vehicle capable of towing a 3 ton caravan, and ideally with a third row of seats for those times where there was more than 5 needing transport. It needed to be suitable for my wife to drive occasionally too. I considered a Ford Ranger, but the second row of seats is less adult friendly, and the tray is not user friendly with a canopy. It ticked all the boxes, and more. What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you. I had previously owned a Mitsubishi Pajero and a Toyota Prado. So a 4x4 unibody SUV appealed. It is less 'ute-like' compared to the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Toyota Fortuner. I picked it up at 12 months old, with 20km on the clock, and close to $30k off the new price. So it was near-new, without the new price tag. It came with the balance of the 5 year new car warranty for piece of mind too. It's been a great vehicle, and is likely to be my primary vehicle for many years to come (unless I can figure how to afford the new generation Everest). What have you discovered since owning the car? It does what it says on the box, and as numerous reviews state, its the only real 4x4 to be compared to a Toyota Prado, and it comes without the Toyota tax. It's capable, comfortable, spacious, resonably economic. What do you like/dislike about the car? My biggest bugbear? Fords servicing costs are exorbitant. But now that the warranty period is about to end, I can look to thrid part servicing options. Any other comments on the car? I'm a car guy, but not specifically a 'Ford' car guy. But I really rate this car, and would definately buy another. It's not simply a ute turned into a SUV. It has better rear suspension and rear disc brakes amongst other things when compared to the Ranger ute. Toyota capable, without the Toyota tax. It fits my need really well. I have enjoyed the whole ownership experience, and look forward to many more years of reliable convenient motoring. Its big enough to hold what I need, but small enough to fit into a regular carpark.
