As with most new technology, when Tesla announced it's Sentry Mode, there were a few sceptics doubting its ability to detect foul play.
It seems that this single Model 3 has managed to all prove them wrong as it recorded a couple of "truck bros" vandalising the car in HD.
First shared on the Tesla sub on Reddit, the footage catches the two guys eyeing up the EV on the front camera, before switching to the side cameras as they move around the vehicle.
Upon noticing a scratch on the door of the Dodge Ram, the two men assume that the Tesla owner had made the mark, and decide to get their revenge. Right in front of the camera, one man keys the door as his buddy laughs at the car as he walks off.
The driver of the Ram (and the one wearing the "MERICA" shirt) then decides to open his door into the door of the EV, and because once is never enough, his buddy returns for a second round of keying.
The ironic aspect of the driver's "MERICA" shirt is that Tesla's are arguably the most American car in the world right now, being completely built on US soil.
Unfortunately, the original poster of the video mentioned that Sentry Mode had turned off by the time the truck's number plate had passed across the screen, meaning that they couldn't identify the vandals.
While it's anyone guess as to why these two felt the need to damage someone else's property, most of the internet is assuming that they just don't like electric vehicles.
If they had paid more attention to the car's instrument panel, they would have noticed that the car's cameras were on, but then again, they wouldn't have become overnight celebrities.
