It's a two-for-one special over the ditch at Tickford, where they've just revealed a retro-livery for Mark Winterbottom and Dean Canto's Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 entry as well as the new Ford Mustang TSV-535R.
Both 'Frosty' and Canto's Falcon livery and the new Mustang pay homage to the 1978 Ford XC Falcon Cobra and its blue-stripes-on-white colour scheme.
“We’ve enjoyed a fantastic partnership with The Bottle-O and are thrilled with this new project and the new look of The Bottle-O Ford,” says Tickford managing director Rod Nash.
“To tie in our racing partnership with the vehicle enhancement business adds another dimension to our relationship, and we thank The Bottle-O for their willingness to join us in this endeavour.”
Tickford are the second team to reveal a retro livery for next weekend's Bathurst 1000 showdown, following Nissan Motorsport's Castrol Perkins tribute on Wednesday.
But perhaps it's the Mustang that's a bit more interesting here.
The TSV-535R is an Aussie Mustang package that includes a host of visual changes. Buyers get the memorable stripe package, as well as unique seven-spoke wheels, Alcantara and nappa leather trim inside, and an aggressive carbon fibre aero kit.
There are performance changes, too. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres help it grab the ground, while power output gets bumped from 339kW and 556Nm to 400kW and 632Nm, respectively.
Tickford say this change is largely thanks to a new ECU re-calibration. And, like many of Ford's other approved aftermarket packages, it's covered by a three-year/100,000km drive-line warranty. No Australian pricing has been confirmed.
“The TSV-535R is inspired by several historically significant cars in the Ford line up,” adds Nash.
"We bleed blue at Tickford. The TSV-535R gets that blood pumping, and we can’t wait to put all 400kW of it on the road.”
How does the TSV-535R compare to what's offered in Aotearoa? Well, it's favourable in the power stakes next to the incoming Bullitt Mustang, as well as Ford Performance's Stage II Ford Performance kit. However, the 530kW Stage III package is a much more savage proposition.

Then there's the Mustang RTR Spec 3 that we recently road tested, which wraps that 530kW of power bump in a much more menacing bow (with a name that rolls off the tongue a bit easier than 'TSV-535R', no less).
Either way, these are happy times for Mustang owners. Those on either side of the ditch have plenty of options to choose from.
