Subaru has revealed a glimpse of a new performance concept that will take center stage during the Tokyo Motor Show next month.

The concept will be called Viziv Performance, and follows a line of show cars and SUVs that have worn the same nameplate, beginning in 2013.

Subaru say the Viziv Performance Concept is a sports sedan, but it wont be one that's fully focused on the driver.

Instead, the concept will showcase how Subaru plans to merge their sporty production models with autonomous driving technology.

The concept will use 'advanced driver-assist technology' with an updated version of Subaru's EyeSight driver assistance system.

Subaru say the Viziv Performance is an important concept as the company expects self-driving vehicles to become far more popular in the near future.

Not much else will be known until it's public debut on October 25, but if Subaru get this right, the Viziv Performance could display how driving dynamics behind the wheel and autonomous technology could be packaged in harmony.
