Ford New Zealand have confirmed that two special edition models, a Ranger and an Everest, will be arriving on our shores next month.
The two models are the Ranger FX4 and the Everest FX2. Both come dipped in Shadow Black, an exclusive colour, and both are produced in very limited quantities — produced as a nod to the upcoming Lions tour.
Just 200 of the Ranger FX4 and a measly 50 Everest FX2s are scheduled to arrive, priced at $65,390 (Ranger) and $69,990 (Everest) respectively.
Both vehicles gain a selection of other special toys as well. For the Ranger they include larger 18" wheels, FX4 decal and badge branding all round and on the leather-accented seats, black interior highlights — plus roof rails, a new grille, side steps, and exterior mirrors that are all painted (you guessed it) black.
“The Ranger FX4 makes a great ute even more extraordinary with its unique style and boldness, and that’s a difficult thing to do with a vehicle that already looks great and has won so many awards,” said Ford New Zealand Marketing Manager for Light Commercial and SUVs, Jeremy Nash.
The Everest meanwhile, based on the Trend variant, marks the introduction of rear-wheel drive to the SUV's range. It also comes with leather seat trim, a new 18" wheel, black roof rails, grille, and badging, and tinted windows (they're tinted black, if you weren't sure).
If these butter your biscuit (or Marmite your biscuit, as it were, since Marmite is black), they'll be available from May 1. But you'll probably have to get in quick, given how quick these things are snapped up.
