Skoda has cooked up a rather neat birthday present for its motorsport division: the Fabia Motorsport Edition, a limited-run hot hatch marking 125 years of competition history.
Only 125 cars will be built, each based on the Fabia 130 special edition. That means the small hatch gets Skoda’s enhanced 1.5-litre TSI evo2 engine, tuned to deliver 130kW and 250Nm. It is also the fastest series-production Fabia model yet, which gives this anniversary special more substance than a sticker pack and a numbered plaque.
Rally suit, road shoes

The Motorsport Edition wears Moon White metallic paint as standard, paired with black pillars and a black roof. Skoda has added black front and rear spoilers, a black diffuser and rally-inspired decals drawn from the current Fabia RS Rally2 competition car.
It also gets Bi-LED headlights with black inner surrounds, unique 18-inch Libra alloy wheels in a smoked finish, lowered suspension and twin exhaust tailpipes tucked beneath the diffuser. The result is still a Fabia, but one that looks like it has spent the morning watching onboard rally footage.
More poke than the regular 1.5

Under the bonnet, Skoda’s Powertrain Development team has modified selected engine components, including the intake manifold, vibration damper and rocker arms. Compared with the standard 110kW 1.5 TSI, the Motorsport Edition makes stronger power from 3500rpm, with peak output arriving between 5000rpm and 6000rpm.
The seven-speed DSG has also been sharpened. It brings higher shift points for quicker acceleration, rev-matched downshifts in Sport mode and revised braking logic to help the car get back on the power sooner.
Collectable touches inside

The cabin keeps the everyday-friendly Fabia formula but adds a sportier edge. There are front sports seats with integrated head restraints, carbon-look trim, a three-spoke sports steering wheel with a Skoda Motorsport 125 emblem, woven floor mats and bespoke door sills.
Each car also gets a dashboard plaque showing its number in the 125-unit run. Owners receive a gift box with a certificate of origin, a protective transport case, driving gloves and, best of all, a piece of safety frame from a Fabia RS Rally2.
DRIVEN Car Guide understands Skoda has not disclosed pricing or market availability yet. Still, for fans of small fast cars and rally oddities, this Fabia looks like a tidy collector’s piece with genuine mechanical upgrades.
