Warner Bros. has announced a limited run of life-size Batmobile replicas, modelled directly after the iconic 'Tumbler' from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

Branded under the Wayne Enterprises Experience luxury line, these ten exclusive Tumblers will set buyers back an eye-watering US$2.99 million (around NZ$5 million) each, positioning them as one of the most extravagant collector’s items available.

Over the years, Batman enthusiasts have attempted various Tumbler recreations, but this official Warner Bros. version raises the bar significantly.

Each replica is built on a reinforced tubular chassis crafted from aerospace-grade steel, with body panels constructed from high-performance materials including carbon fibre, fibreglass, Kevlar and sheet metal. This design not only delivers visual authenticity but also offers durability worthy of its cinematic counterpart.

Powering this massive six-wheeler is a 6.2-litre LS3 naturally-aspirated V8 engine, churning out 391kW and 659Nm of torque.

Paired with a 4L85E GM transmission and stainless steel headers, the Tumbler delivers robust performance for its size. At 2499 kg, the vehicle is surprisingly light, weighing roughly 850kg less than a Ford Ranger Wildtrak, though its powertrain design and weight imply that nimble manoeuvres aren’t its forte.

The Tumbler’s visual impact closely mirrors the on-screen version, right down to its faux jet engine nestled in the rear. Interior images are yet to be revealed, but Warner Bros. has hinted at some customisation opportunities for buyers.

Standard features will include dual seats fitted with five-point racing harnesses and multiple displays to enhance the cockpit experience. This flexibility suggests that while the design remains faithful to Batman’s ride, owners can make subtle tweaks to make the vehicle truly unique.

Each Tumbler will take approximately 15 months to build, reflecting the intricate craftsmanship and bespoke materials involved.

With only ten units available worldwide, Warner Bros. aims to create an ultra-rare collector’s item that appeals to both Batman fans and high-end automotive collectors.

At NZ$5 million, the Tumbler’s price places it squarely in the realm of hypercars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie, raising the question of whether Warner Bros. will secure ten buyers for this unique offering.
