Porsche is sending the current 99X Electric into its final Formula E weekend dressed for the occasion. The car has been given a white-and-blue heritage livery for the two London races on 15 and 16 August 2026.
Those races will close both the Formula E season and the competition career of this version of the 99X Electric. It will not be slipping quietly into retirement: Porsche says the car has already collected five world championship titles, making it the most successful Gen3 Formula E model and the most successful Porsche single-seater.
Three racing legends inspire the look
The temporary colour scheme celebrates 75 years of Porsche motorsport by drawing on three very different competition cars.
Its white-and-blue treatment recalls the Porsche 959 that won the Paris–Dakar Rally, along with the 956 and 962 C sports cars that triumphed at Le Mans. That gives the all-electric racer a visual connection to rally-raid machinery and endurance prototypes as it reaches the end of its own chapter.
The send-off will take place on London’s unusual 2.077 km Formula E circuit, which combines indoor and outdoor sections. With two races remaining, however, the weekend is more than a heritage parade.
Evans remains firmly in the fight
Jake Dennis leads the drivers’ standings with 146 points before London. New Zealander Mitch Evans sits just two points behind on 144, while Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein is third with 141.
Crucially, Evans drives for Jaguar TCS Racing, not Porsche. His place in the story comes from the title contest around Porsche driver Wehrlein and the departing 99X, rather than any connection to the historic livery.
Porsche has already secured the Manufacturers’ World Championship, but the teams’ contest remains open. Jaguar leads Porsche by 257 points to 243 heading into the finale.
That leaves the current 99X Electric with meaningful work to do before its racing career ends. The five-title record and retro colours are already settled; the outcome of the London races, and the drivers’ and teams’ battles around them, will only be decided once the weekend unfolds.
