The new Polestar 4 SUV is exactly what it says on the tin: a crossover/wagon version of the 4 coupe. It's got a rear window now and everything.
The 4 SUV is New Zealand-bound in the last quarter of this year, at $109,900 for the single-motor RWD version and $119,900 for the dual-motor AWD. It can also be specified with a Performance pack from $128,900. The current Polestar 4 coupe is $99,900-$119,900.

"It gives customers the performance, technology and design they expect from Polestar, with the space and versatility that make sense for our roads, lifestyles and the Kiwi roadtrip. This model will play an important role in the premium SUV segment, in which EV has 71% share.”
The SUV has a redesigned rear end with a straighter roofline and more upright tailgate. The full-length roof rails can carry 100 kg.
The remainder of the body is largely untouched: only 48 new parts were designed specifically to create the SUV model.
The idiosyncratic rear-windowless design of the 4 coupe has not been carried over to the SUV and the digital rearview mirror has moved onto the options list.
The more upright design of the SUV’s rear offers an extra 25mm of headroom to the Polestar 4 cabin. There's a new and larger panoramic glass roof, with the Polestar logo in black-off, mounted as standard. The full-length glass surface is tailored to the redesigned rear of the Polestar 4 SUV and stretches all the way
back to the tailgate.
Beyond the claimed 99.5% UV protection provided by the standard glass roof, an optional electrochromic
glass roof further reduces glare through an electrically dimmable laminated glass layer. Occupants can control light transmission via the centre display, choosing between fully transparent, fully tinted, or selectively shaded sections.
Polestar 4 SUV offers 1680 litres of storage, including front and rear luggage compartments. There's 530l up to the rear seatbacks, and 655 litres when measured up to the inner roof. The rear seatbacks are split 60/40.
Polestar 4 SUV has a towing capacity of 2000kg for all versions, and a fully retractable electric towbar is available as an option.
Powertrains and suspension tuning are carried over from the 4 coupe. The performance chassis includes recalibrated active dampers from ZF, Brembo brakes with callipers in Swedish gold colour, and a new 22-inch wheel equipped with Pirelli P Zero performance tyres.
Polestar has also introduced a Camping Mode with 4 SUV, which transforms the parked vehicle into a climate-controlled space. The function provides access to entertainment, ambient lighting and vehicle controls from both front and rear displays, supported by V2L power, USB-C connectivity and the 12V outlet.
All Polestar 4 SUV models are manufactured in Busan, South Korea, where production started in the second quarter of 2026. NZ customer deliveries will start from the fourth quarter of this year.
