Cadillac’s V-Series takes a bold leap forward with the 2026 Lyriq-V.

As the first fully electric model in the high-performance V-Series lineup, this SUV solidifies Cadillac’s EV aspirations while delivering unmatched speed and refinement.

Confirmed for right-hand drive in New Zealand, the Lyriq-V is set to make waves when it arrives.

A new benchmark for Cadillac

Equipped with a 102kWh lithium-ion battery and dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD), the Lyriq-V boasts a staggering 459kW and 880Nm of torque.

This allows the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.3 seconds when Velocity Max mode is engaged, making it the fastest Cadillac ever. It edges out the combustion-powered CT5-V Blackwing by a tenth of a second.

While these performance credentials are thrilling, they come with a trade-off - a range of 459 km, slightly lower than the standard Lyriq’s 488 to 513km.

However, rapid charging compensates, with DC fast charging delivering 121km of range in just 10 minutes. Home charging options include an efficient 19.2kW charger, offering up to 71km per hour.

Enhanced dynamics

Cadillac has engineered the Lyriq-V for more than just straight-line speed.

A sharper steering ratio, lowered multi-link suspension and continuous damping control ensure agility and comfort.

The SUV also features Launch Control, a customisable V-Mode, and Competitive Mode for improved traction and cornering prowess.

Brembo front brakes with 390 mm discs - 71 mm larger than the standard model - provide exceptional stopping power.

According to Lyriq-V chief engineer Dave Stutzman, these refinements combine to deliver a driving experience that balances “confidence and control” with luxury.

Externally, the Lyriq-V adopts subtle but striking design tweaks, including a unique front fascia, sportier side skirts and V-Series badging.

he 22-inch wheels, paired with performance tyres, emphasise its athletic character. Buyers can enhance the look with optional carbon-fibre accents and an exclusive Magnus Metal Frost paint finish.

Inside, the cabin exudes sophistication with sporty undertones. The 33-inch curved display now features a customised interface, while the dual-plane augmented reality head-up display debuts as a Cadillac first.

Paperwood trim, illuminated sill plates and a premium 23-speaker AKG sound system complete the package.

New Zealand availability

Scheduled for production in Tennessee, the Lyriq-V will arrive in New Zealand sometime in 2025 in a factory right-hand drive configuration. Local pricing remains undisclosed, however.

Cadillac’s bold entry into electric performance SUVs marks a pivotal moment for the brand, and the 2026 Lyriq-V ensures that New Zealand buyers will be part of this new wave.

For now, the standard Lyriq remains available in the country, starting at $117,000 for the Luxury variant.
