New S-Class teased with major overhaul.

  • Mercedes-Benz will unveil the new S-Class globally on January 29, 2026.
  • Over 50% of the S-Class components are new or significantly revised.
  • The new S-Class will debut the next-generation Mercedes-Benz Operating System, MB.OS.

Mercedes-Benz has lifted the curtain (just slightly) on the next-generation S-Class, offering an early look ahead of its full world premiere on January 29.

The preview comes via a new YouTube video featuring Mercedes-Benz Group CEO Ola Kallenius, who walks viewers through key elements of the flagship luxury sedan while driving a heavily camouflaged prototype.

The timing is deliberate. The reveal forms part of Mercedes-Benz’s broader “140 Years of Innovation” celebrations, with the S-Class positioned once again as the technological and philosophical centre of the brand.

More new parts than you’d expect

According to Mercedes-Benz, the new S-Class represents one of the most extensive updates in the model’s history. More than 50% of its components are either new or significantly revised, or around 2,700 parts in total. While exterior details remain closely guarded, Kallenius confirms a more confident, individual stance, including the return of an upright three-pointed star mounted proudly on the bonnet.

Under the skin, the focus is firmly on digital evolution. The new S-Class will introduce the next generation of Mercedes-Benz Operating System, known as MB.OS, forming the backbone for infotainment, connectivity and vehicle intelligence.

Comfort still rules

Despite the tech-heavy messaging, Mercedes is keen to underline that traditional S-Class values remain intact. Kallenius highlights further refinements to ride comfort, delivered via an updated Airmatic air suspension with intelligent damping control. The system is said to better manage long, undulating road surfaces, smoothing out conditions commonly encountered on extended motorway journeys.

Personalisation also takes a step forward, with expanded Manufaktur Made to Measure options allowing buyers to tailor materials, finishes and details to a greater degree than before.

A familiar format, with new company

The video forms part of an ongoing series in which Kallenius previews major upcoming models before their official debuts. Previous episodes have included the electric CLA, electric G-Class and the all-electric GLC, often showcased in demanding test environments.

This time, the S-Class takes centre stage, joined by content creator Justin Tse—and a surprise virtual appearance from tennis legend Roger Federer, adding a touch of star power to the otherwise restrained presentation.

Kallenius framed the new S-Class as a continuation of the model’s long-standing role within the brand, positioning it as a benchmark for comfort, safety and engineering ambition as Mercedes-Benz marks 140 years since its earliest innovations.

Full technical specifications, power outputs and drivetrain details remain under wraps. All will be revealed when the new S-Class makes its official global debut later this month.
