Back in December we picked up an LDV T60 Luxury. And while it was a bit of a roughie around the edges, it did draw a line in the sand regarding just how much ute one can buy with the 40 grand burning a hole in their pocket.
Now there's one available for some 10k less.
The company have confirmed that Kiwis will soon be able to buy the T60 in a four-wheel drive, single cab variant for the price of $26,990 minus GST (or $31,380 with GST).
As well as being missing a couple of doors, the new base-spec ute comes with black plastic bumpers, and an alloy rear deck that weighs in at a mere 148kg (it's 2550mm long and 1777mm wide, if you're keen to 'nerd out' over dimensions).
On the flip side it's powered by the same 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine, has some of the same features like cruise control and tyre-pressure monitoring, and it still boasts a five star ANCAP safety rating.
The cherry on top? It comes with the same five year/130,000km warranty too. They'll start hitting New Zealand in April.
With reduced features and a sharp price-tag, these utes have clearly got fleet buyers in mind — a move that has to be taken if they want to try and tackle 'the big guns' at their own game.
