Mitsubishi Motors is gearing up for a bold statement at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, scheduled from January 10 to 12 at Chiba's Makuhari Messe convention centre.
With eight distinct vehicles on display, the spotlight will shine brightly on the Triton, Mitsubishi's flagship one-tonne ute.
Custom Triton models take centre stage
Among the standout Triton customisations is a bespoke version crafted by Mitsubishi brand ambassador Hiromi (as seen above).
Designed for urban environments, this model features lowered suspension and matte-wrapped metal-plated accents, offering a refined and sophisticated aesthetic.
Adding to the Triton showcase is the winning entry from Mitsubishi's recent Triton custom contest, set to make its public debut at the show.
Meanwhile, a DJ booth-equipped Triton, built in collaboration with Red Bull Japan, promises to energise the event with live DJ performances directly from its cargo bed.
Outlander PHEV meets Metal Gear Solid
Another standout is the Outlander PHEV Night Seeker Concept, which takes design cues from the iconic Metal Gear Solid video game series.
With its rugged off-road capabilities fused with stealth-inspired aesthetics, this custom SUV blends Mitsubishi's renowned reliability with cinematic flair.
Delica and rally-ready builds
The Delica D:5 Black Edition Active Seeker features a sleek matte gunmetal finish complemented by graphics inspired by rugged terrains, reflecting the natural contours of Mitsubishi's Tokachi proving ground. Designed for adventure seekers, it combines style and rugged functionality.
Mitsubishi's rally fleet for AXCR 2024 will also be on display, including the Triton rally car built to FIA Group T1 specifications. With enhanced power, widened tracks and upgraded suspension, it’s engineered for extreme off-road endurance.
Supporting it are the Delica D:5 and Delica Mini support vehicles, both featuring lift-up suspension, all-terrain tyres and engine guards for durability across challenging rally stages.
