Next-gen Mercedes V-Class previewed with new Vision V concept.

Mercedes-Benz is elevating the people mover to new heights with the Vision V, a concept that redefines what the next-generation V-Class could become.

Rather than a practical van with premium leanings, the Vision V positions itself as a fully electric luxury limousine - fusing immersive digital experiences, executive-class comfort and an entirely new design language.

VAN.EA flagship

Built on the upcoming Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA), the Vision V is more than a design study.

It's a deliberate upmarket move, where tech, comfort and opulence merge in a format traditionally associated with practicality.

Thomas Klein, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, stated plainly: “With [Vision V], we set standards in design, comfort and an immersive user experience - while meeting the highest demands of our customers.”

The VAN.EA platform will underpin a broad range of electric vans from 2026, spanning entry-level family hauliers to chauffeur-driven limousines. Vision V sits firmly at the latter end, establishing a design and digital blueprint for what's to come.

Digital immersion

Dominating the cabin is a 65-inch retractable 4K cinema screen. Hidden beneath the floor and flanked by seven projectors, it turns the 'Private Lounge' into an adaptable space: gaming room, office, theatre or karaoke bar.

Sound is delivered through 42 speakers, including seat-mounted exciters, offering spatial audio with haptic feedback.

Passengers can also cycle through seven interactive experiences, from augmented-reality navigation to in-transit shopping, with the side windows doubling as part of a 360-degree visual environment.

The ambience evolves dynamically, with ambient lighting synced to media playback. A pillar-to-pillar Superscreen up front delivers a similar sensory layer for the driver, combining real-time surroundings with vehicle data and assistance features.

Crafted comfort

Trimmed in crystal white Nappa leather, white silk and open-pore burr wood, the interior evokes lounge-like relaxation.

Switchable privacy glass, a nanotech partition and adaptive seating positions reinforce the limousine ethos.

Reclining seats offer four modes - from upright Entry to a near-flat Sleep position - while the centre console houses a fold-out chessboard, touchscreen controls and ambient fragrance disperser.

Design as status signal

Sculpted surfaces, short overhangs and a flowing roofline define the exterior. Chrome-framed LED louvres form a dynamic light show on approach, while the iconic Mercedes star anchors the bonnet. 24-inch wheels, a low waistline and aerodynamic shaping complete the silhouette.

Almost 200 illuminated elements wrap the grille and headlights, visually linking tradition with futurism. At the rear, over 450 3D louvres function as taillights and brake lights.

New Mercedes-Benz V-Class?

If this is the new V-Class, it’s no longer just a family or fleet option but a digital sanctuary for the executive class.

The Vision V is as much about redefining format as it is about luxury. And if this is where Mercedes-Benz Vans is headed, people movers may just become status symbols.
