Want a new Ford hot hatch but think all-wheel-drive is for the weak?

Thank your lucky starts then, because the perfect example has come along thanks to a pair of Ford collectors in the UK – a 2009 Ford Focus RS with only 45 miles (72km) on the clock, currently listed for auction by Classic Car Auctions.

With such low mileage the car is essentially brand new; still in need of a Sunday drive to run the engine in. The Performance Blue RS is in such good condition it received a condition report score of 134/135.

The auctioneers are expecting this ‘09 RS to approach brand-new ’17 RS money once bidding gets underway with an estimate value of £32,000 - £36,000 (NZ$56,000 - $63,000) placed on the car.

“The MK2 Focus RS has all the makings of a future classic and indeed are proving popular at auction”, said Guy Lees-Milne, general manager and classic car specialist at Classic Car Auctions.

“With the launch of a new Focus RS to much fanfare and continued demand for all things Fast Ford we expect a similar amount of interest with this amazingly low mileage example.”

Built in 2009, this 244kW, six-speed manual RS has had two registered owners, a husband and wife couple, who have somehow resisted the urge to drive the hot hatch, leaving it to sit idle in storage for the last seven years.

Official paperwork shows the car has had one service during its lifetime in October 2016 and was only MOT’d twice (equivalent of a WOF) with the first coming in 2015 and followed up in 2016.

If you demand your fast Fords to deliver drive to the front axle and be in brand-new, immaculate condition, this Focus RS will go under the hammer at Classic Car Auctions between the 1st and 2nd of April.
