Stellantis-backed EV-startup brand Leapmotor will be launched in New Zealand early next year with the C10 medium SUV. A single specification, Design, will be offered in "Armstrong Leap" dealerships in three main centres: 500 Great South Rd, Auckland; 340 High Street, Lower Hutt; and 161 Saint Asaph Street, Christchurch.

Leapmotor is being handled in NZ by Auto Distributors, the importing division of the Armstrong's automotive network. It's a new brand founded in 2015, but reaching out globally in a joint venture with Stellantis. If you'd like to know more about the company's background and Stellantis connection, read our story here.
We've had quite a bit of experience with the C10 already, including the international media launch in Milan, Italy. Read our drive story here or watch the video below.
But what we didn't know then was the price. The Leapmotor C10 will be sold in NZ at $54,990; the flagship Design is the sole version for our market at this stage.
The C10 carries a 70kWh LFP battery and single 160kW/320Nm electric motor (RWD). WLTP range is 420km.
The Design rides on 20-inch wheels. Standard equipment includes LED lights, panoramic roof, air quality monitor, heat pump, power-adjustable/heated front seats, multi-colour ambient interior lighting, NFC and Bluetooth key, connected services including over-the-air updates (OTA) and 360-degree camera.
